This communique serves to confirm that all letters of appointment are issued on the official JDA letterhead and signed by the JDA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or Chief Financial Officer (CFO) only and will ALWAYS be communicated to any appointed service providers by a JDA official who has the designated authority to do so.

As we celebrate Women's Month, we take stock of the achievements of women in various fields, including the professional space. The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) is a prime example of an organization that has made great strides in empowering women and promoting gender equality. Of the JDA's workforce, 64% are women, with 40% holding senior or leadership roles, an impressive feat, given the numerous barriers women continue to face in the workplace. However, changes at work need to happen to ensure that women have equal opportunities for growth and advancement.

The Last Mile: Catalyzing Development

The new 1 790m² modern Bophelong Clinic in Doornkop, Soweto is on track for completion this year, with the sub-structure, superstructure, roof structure and roof covering now completed. The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA), on behalf of the City of Johannesburg’s Department of Health, has been implementing the construction of the larger, modernised facility. The clinic is another demonstration of the City’s drive to provide healthcare facilities within a 5km radius of all communities. Since construction activities recommenced under COVID-19 Alert Level 3, the construction of the facility is steadily progressing.
