As the City of Joburg’s Development Agency, the JDA is tasked with restructuring the space economy to give poor households better access to well-located accommodation, jobs and markets; optimise land use and energy consumption; and improve living standards and mobility for large numbers of people in well serviced and managed transit neighbourhoods.

The Executive Committee and Human Resources and Remuneration Committee provide regular input into the organisation’s employment equity, practices strategies direction and initiatives.

The JDA undertakes an annual review of its employment equity processes and general employment practices to inform the implementation of the Employment Equity Plan. The JDA plans its annual employment equity targets in terms of its Employment Equity Policy and reports to the Department of Labour in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Equity Act and within legislated timeframes.
