The Johannesburg Development Agency aims to transform Joburg through growing competitive business environments, improving public spaces and promoting access to jobs.
The innovative Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) was established in April 2001 to revive economic activity throughout the city. The JDA initiates and supports area-based economic development initiatives throughout the Johannesburg metropolitan municipality in support of the City’s Growth and Development Strategy, Joburg 2040 (GDS).
“This project is about building the kind of transport system that works for everyone. As the implementing agency, the JDA is proud to support the City’s Transport Department in creating a plan that puts people at the centre of mobility and unlocks opportunities across Johannesburg,” said JDA CEO, Mr Themba Mathibe.

The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) has once again demonstrated its commitment to sustainable and inclusive infrastructure development, earning three recognitions at the 88th IMESA/CESA Excellence Awards, held during the IMESA Conference & Exhibition in East London on Tuesday, 28 October.
