The Johannesburg Development Agency wishes to pass on its heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who died or were injured in the collapse of the scaffolding over the M1 in Sandton on the afternoon of Wednesday, 14 October.
The collapse of the structure has been a shock to all of us.
We would also like to acknowledge the difficult task of the emergency services, who have worked tirelessly through the night, and thank them for their professional and caring work.
An in-depth investigation has already begun to find the cause of this tragedy and ensure that this never happens again.
