{"id":42,"date":"2018-05-09T20:52:09","date_gmt":"2018-05-09T20:52:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/173.254.98.142\/?p=42"},"modified":"2019-02-22T07:53:39","modified_gmt":"2019-02-22T07:53:39","slug":"louis-botha-storm-water-phase-1-construction-commencing-10-may-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jda.org.za\/archived\/louis-botha-storm-water-phase-1-construction-commencing-10-may-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Louis Botha Storm Water Phase 1 Construction Commencing 10 May 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The JDA will commence with the construction of the works on phase 1 of the Louis Botha Storm Water upgrade on behalf of the City of Johannesburg from 10 May 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The works are apportioned as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Section A: Sinkhole at No. on 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Street<\/li>\n<li>Section B: Sinkhole at No.26 Shipstone Lane, Victoria<\/li>\n<li>Section C: Sinkhole at 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Avenue next Paterson Park Fence<\/li>\n<li>Section D: Eastern Culvert storm water upgrade (infrastructure reinstatement within Paterson Park)<\/li>\n<li>Section E: Repair of collapsed retaining wall next to No.45 Oakland Road, Orchards in open Channel.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The storm water upgrade will include\u00a0curbs, gutters, drains, piping, and collection systems. This process will reduce and\u00a0treats\u00a0storm water at its source while also\u00a0providing\u00a0multiple community benefits such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reducing localized flooding<\/li>\n<li>Improving\u00a0community aesthetics<\/li>\n<li>Encouraging\u00a0more neighborhood socialization<\/li>\n<li>Improving economic health by increasing property values and providing jobs\u00a0opportunities for small businesses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The scope of works for this financial year is to complete detailed design and commence with construction on the identified priority areas which we refer to as Phase 1.
