This day celebrates and recognizes the SMMEs&#8217; role in creating jobs and promoting economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) Economic Empowerment Programme focuses on skills development and capacity within the construction industry in Johannesburg, optimizing the contribution to inclusive economic growth and empowerment and the transformation of the construction industry.<\/p>\n<p>The JDA\u2019s mission directs it to create a conducive environment for economic empowerment and makes use of programmes for the development of SMMEs that aim to:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Develop skills and capacity within the construction industry in Johannesburg<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Optimise the JDA\u2019s contribution to inclusive economic growth and empowerment, and the transformation of the construction industry; and<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Establish a monitoring and reporting system to measure the impact of the JDA\u2019s managing contractor development programme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprise Day is on 27 June.
