{"id":14863,"date":"2022-11-18T15:32:06","date_gmt":"2022-11-18T15:32:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jda.org.za\/archived\/?p=14863"},"modified":"2022-11-18T15:33:20","modified_gmt":"2022-11-18T15:33:20","slug":"chief-financial-officer-5-year-fixed-term-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jda.org.za\/archived\/chief-financial-officer-5-year-fixed-term-contract\/","title":{"rendered":"CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (5-year fixed term contract)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MARKET-RELATED SALARY PACKAGE (E2)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the position:<\/strong> Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors, the<br \/>\nrole will provide strategic financial leadership to the JDA and oversee the provision of financial management,<br \/>\nmanagement accounting and supply chain management functions, in accordance with legislation and regulations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong> the role will be responsible to develop an alternative financial revenue model with multiple<br \/>\nincome streams to sustain the JDA. Develop the Finance Strategy in line with MTREF and aligned to the overarching<br \/>\nBusiness Strategy and Business Plan. Contribute towards the development of short-, medium- and long-term plans<br \/>\nand strategies for the JDA, to give effect to national and provincial government objectives and the City of Joburg\u2019s<br \/>\nGrowth and Development Strategy, as a member of the Executive Committee. Oversee the establishment and<br \/>\nmanagement of an efficient budgeting control system. Oversee the timeous and accurate monthly, quarterly and<br \/>\nannual financial reporting, as per legislation.<\/p>\n<p>Assess financial implications propositions and align expenditure to cash flow projections to ensure JDA\u2019s objectives<br \/>\nare met. Identify operational and strategic financial risk within area of responsibility and implement risk mitigation<br \/>\nplans. Oversee the management of internal and external audits, inclusive of stakeholder engagement and resolution<br \/>\nof audit findings. Support the Accounting Officer of the organization and the Board in terms of the Municipal Finance<br \/>\nManagement Act in fulfilling his financial responsibility.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong> A minimum of an Honours degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or any related field is required<br \/>\n(NQF level 9). CA (SA) qualification and Master\u2019s Degree or MBA will be advantageous. Minimum of 10 years\u2019<br \/>\nexperience in Financial Management and 3 years\u2019 in a Senior\/Executive management role, extensive knowledge<br \/>\nof MFMA, Treasury Regulations, GRAP, IFRS and IIA Standards. Understanding of local, provincial, and national<br \/>\ngovernment environment.
