Metro Park becoming a favourite for city dwellers

In downtown Joburg, what was once a dumping site is now a welcome green lung that is attracting more and more inner city residents. There was little by way of outdoor entertainment before the park was opened, but now folk use the space for play, relaxation and exercise.

Layover on Pat Mbatha Highway will help bus drivers

A layover is being constructed on the Pat Mbatha Highway between Joburg and Soweto, where Rea Vaya bus drivers will be able to park, eat and rest between their services. This will help their health and save on fuel costs.

Cycle lane to link university and Park Station

The JDA has earmarked R120m to create cycle lanes connecting the University of Johannesburg and Park Station in one of many moves to make Joburg bike friendly. There are also plans to build cycling routes between the station and Ellis Park, as well as Alexandra and Sandton.
