The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) invites the community of Alexandra and all stakeholders to attend the project launch of the Alexandra Urban Development Framework (Alex Master Plan).

The launch will take place at the Alexsan Kopano Multi-Purpose Centre, corner 12th Ave and Reverend Sam Buti Street, Alexandra at 5pm on Wednesday, 23 March 2016.

Besides all residents, stakeholders that are urged to attend the launch include:

  • Youth and women organisations
  • Heritage and tourism organisations
  • Development forums
  • Property owners
  • Education and health organisations
  • Businesses
  • The transport sector
  • The public sector

The Urban Development Framework (UDF) is an important strategic document for Alexandra, as it will not only direct proper spatial planning and sustainable development of the area, but will assist with the mobilisation and securing of funding commitments across all three spheres of Government.

A comprehensive and inclusive community participation process is essential to the final formulation of the Alexandra UDF.

The process will allow residents and stakeholders many opportunities to express their ideas and help co-produce solutions toward desired outcomes in Alex - starting with the project launch on 23 March.

So join us, and have your say on the future of Alex!
