By JDA standards the High Court precinct upgrade may be a small intervention, yet one which has made a massive change to the area. The private sector in turn has ploughed millions of rand into the precinct. The unique paving, benches and lighting installed along Pritchard and Von Brandis Street make the public environment worthy of the majestic High Court building itself. And in time the light green bark of the fever trees will make this a spectacular pedestrian walkway. On the eastern corner of the High Court a new modern city clock, painted in cheerful red, now marks Joburg time.
